I figured I should have some info on who I am as a person, but have no idea where to start, so I cherry-picked some “Getting to Know You” questions I found on a website called signupgenius.com
Who is your hero?
I can’t say that I have a hero, but I have few people who I idolize in some format. Patty Duke is probably my #1. Her life was never easy, and she suffered a lot, but she managed to come out the other end and made it a mission in her life to help others. She was also a damn good actor.
If you could live anywhere, where would it be?
I’ve always wanted to live in England. It will always be a dream of mine, yet I’ve never been. Believe it or not, I have no desire to visit. I know it would upset me too much to be so close to my dream and then have to leave.
What is your biggest fear?
The short answer is flying (how will I ever get to England?), however I’d say my true fear is death because every fear I have is linked to the possibility of death.
What did you want to be when you were small?
In kindergarten, I briefly wanted to be a lawyer because I was obsessed with the movie Suspect. I no longer want to be a lawyer, but my obsession with Suspect remains.
What would you sing at Karaoke night?
I hate karaoke with a passion, but I know people who love it, so sometimes I must endure. My go-to karaoke song is Brandy by Looking Glass.
What two radio stations do you listen to in the car the most?
If the radio is on, it’s just because I’m running late and don’t have enough time to hook my phone up to the aux, however back in high school, my favorite radio station was 103.1 KDL The New Party Station, which no longer exists. Almost two decades later and it still hurts when I think about it.
If you could go back in time, what year would you travel to?
So if you watch my videos, it’s fairly obvious that I have a fixation with the ’80s. That being said, I have no desire to live in the ’80s. I think when people feel like they were born in the wrong era, they are too fixated on pop culture and not thinking about what life was like back then.
What form of public transportation do you prefer? (air, boat, train, bus, car, etc.)
This is an interesting one. Living in LA, public transportation leaves something to be desired, but I also have a terrible case OCD. Not like when people say they are OCD because they are particular about stuff. I have legit OCD (think the show Monk but not funny). Because of this, I rarely take public transportation.
What’s your favorite holiday?
Halloween. This is why I make a Halloween video pretty much every year.
What was the last thing you recorded on TV?
I could be wrong, but I’m almost positive it was Madonna’s Confessions Tour when it aired on NBC.
What’s your favorite movie?
I can never answer this question. I don’t have one definitive favorite movie, but if I make a video about it, it’s safe to assume it is one of my favorites.
What was your favorite subject in school?
So I was a notoriously bad student. I’m fairly certain I have a learning disorder. I figure this because even when I went to film school to study my passion, I had the same issues as I had in all my other classes. I honestly don’t know how I graduated.
Are you an introvert or an extrovert?
Definitely an introvert, but not by choice. On top of my crippling OCD, I also have a terrible issue with anxiety. It really sucks because I’m pretty sure I’d be much further in life if I didn’t have this.
What do you do to keep fit?
I’ve battled weight my whole life. When I was a teenager I weighed over 300 pounds. When I was about 19, I lost around 140 pounds and had to have surgery to remove excess skin (this is the plastic surgery I was talking about in my Ash Wednesday Revisited video). Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to keep it off. I have spent the vast majority of my adult life gaining and losing the same 100+ pounds.
If you had a warning label, what would yours say?
Handle with care.
What song would you say best sums you up?
Melissa Etheridge – Don’t Look At Me
What celebrity would you like to meet at Starbucks for a cup of coffee?
Living? Ruby Wax. She is an amazing woman and I think we could have a great conversation.
If you had to describe yourself as an animal, which one would it be?
A duck-billed platypus. Just like that animal, people never know what to make of me.
Do you feel like you know me better? If you have a question for me, leave it in the comment below, and maybe I’ll answer it.
